MILL CREEK, Wash. — Swedish Hospital in Mill Creek was evacuated after a suspicious device was found near the building Tuesday afternoon, according to the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.

The Washington State Patrol Bomb Squad investigated the scene at 13020 Meridian Ave. S. The "suspicious package" was found outside near the building's entrance, the sheriff's department said.

Sheriff’s officials said all patients had been evacuated and were transported to other area hospitals, including 21 emergency department patients and 50 others, including staff.

An on-scene bomb squad deployed a robot to mitigate risk, according to Providence Swedish.
