On Monday afternoon, John Thompson and Katelynn Cowett’s arrests followed a 17-hour standoff. Pottawatomie County Sheriff deputies received a report that John Thompson’s father, Harold Thompson, was missing. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol issued a Silver Alert with his photo. Another nephew of Harold told deputies that John told him, “Harold Thompson doesn’t exist anymore," according to court records.
