An artist from Brazil was detained by federal agents earlier this year and later faced two charges of child sexual exploitation unrelated to his immigration case, which he and his wife denied.
Some three months later, that case has been dismissed without prejudice, PEOPLE confirms, though authorities say they are still investigating and could bring charges again.
