New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell now has to pay a woman she accused of stalking thousands in legal fees after the Louisiana Supreme Court chose not to take up the case.

Cantrell accused French Quarter resident Anne Breaud of stalking her after she posted pictures online of her and former security guard and NOPD officer Jeffrey Vappie eating lunch across from the balcony of her apartment. Advertisement

The alleged stalking case was dismissed by an appeals court and was also referenced in an indictment against Cantrell.

The case stems from an incident on April 7, 2024, when Breaud, a resident of the Upper Pontalba Apartments, photographed Cantrell and Vappie on a balcony at the Tableau Restaurant across the street.
