MARRERO, La. —

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office has arrested two people and is searching for another after they tried to evade a deputy.

According to Sheriff Joseph Lopinto, the three suspects were sought in connection with burglaries in the area. Advertisement

Deputies tried to stop the suspects near the intersection of Barataria Boulevard and Westbank Expressway.

According to JPSO, deputies told the suspects to get out of the car, but the driver rammed a JPSO car, striking a deputy.

The longtime JPSO deputy fired shots at the driver who drove away and led deputies on a pursuit.

It appears that none of the suspects were injured, according to Lopinto.

The chase ended at Lapalco Boulevard and Barataria Boulevard.
