Residents in participating cities and unincorporated areas across Sacramento County should expect a notification at 10:16 a.m.

This is done annually to ensure warning systems and personnel are ready, according to the county.

The mass notification system is powered by the Smart911 platform, a vital tool that allows residents to receive immediate instructions, such as evacuation notices during emergencies, the county explained.

Residents can register multiple contact methods, including cell phones, landlines and email addresses at a single physical address.
