Since the 1990s, Kristine and Art Rumney have been tailgating in their RV near the LSU AgCenter, where they set up camp with their family and spend the day cooking, visiting and soaking up the atmosphere ahead of the showdown in Death Valley.

In recent years, they've noticed some changes. Their gameday outpost, one of dozens of RVs lined up in LSU's designated lot for mobile homes and RVs, costs $1,000 per season. It used to be free. The crowds are bigger, too. And, others have noted, more corporate logos are visible among the tents sprinkled across the campus.
