NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Gov. Jeff Landry said National Guard troops could arrive in Louisiana before the end of the year, with deployment potentially happening as early as November.

“I’m hoping that we get them in by November,” Landry told FOX 8’s Washington Bureau.

Last month, the governor requested the deployment of 1,000 National Guard troops. Activation must come from President Trump, and until this point, it was unclear when that might happen.
