ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Freshmen in the Rockford School District are getting a head start on planning their futures through the RPS 205 Academy Expo.

The event, held in collaboration with industry partners, featured representatives from over 100 regional businesses and organizations who engaged with students through hands-on demonstrations and interactive displays.

"Today is an opportunity for students to meet with different employers in the area and understand what careers are available to them," said Bridget French, Executive Director of College and Career Readiness.

The Academy Expo is designed to help students explore their interests and make informed decisions about their high school curriculum for the next three years.
