BULLOCH COUNTY, Ga. (WTOC) - The Bulloch County School Board is asking for input from you on a new cellphone policy.

The policy would limit student’s cellphone use grades K-8.

The Bulloch County School Board says they are putting student mental health and productive learning as priority. They are doing so with a proposed policy they voted on October 9th.

The board says they made this decision after Governor Kemp signed the Distraction-Free Education Act .

This new law asks all public schools in the state to have a policy in place by January 1st, 2026.

The Bulloch County policy would limit cellphones, smartwatches and any portable device. Students would not be able to use these devices in school from the first bell ring until dismissal.
