INDIANAPOLIS — Holly Maxwell owns Little Angels, an early childhood learning center in Lebanon , but two years from now, her business may not exist.
"We are on a very tight budget, so anything that is above and beyond necessary we are unable to afford it," Maxwell said.
The state says they made cuts to the voucher program due to a funding gap made by the previous administration. Child care vouchers provide low-income families assistance to pay for child care. It's also how some child care providers make substantial revenue.
"It doesn't matter what I'm taking home. It matters what these children are safe and they're learning, they're being educated and they're loved. That's what matters and nothing else," Maxwell said.
