LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) - The Muhammad Ali Center Board of Directors announced on Wednesday that President and CEO DeVone Holt has decided to step down from his leadership roles.

According to a statement from the Ali Center, Holt’s transition will be on Friday, Oct. 24.

During his time as the head of the center, Holt led the recovery and restoration process after a fire in one of the center’s garages closed the facility, and also spearheaded the launch of the Muhammad Ali Index on Compassion.

Co-founder and wife of Muhammad Ali, Yolanda “Lonnie” Ali, is set to be appointed as the chairman of the Ali Center in addition to serving as Interim President and CEO.
