WALTON COUNTY, Fla. — Two parents from Houston are facing charges in Florida after authorities said they left their 6-month-old child alone in a tent on the beach for nearly an hour.

According to the Walton County Sheriff's Office , Brian Wilks, 40, and Sara Wilks, 37, left the child alone while they walked down the beach with three other children.

According to authorities, it happened on Friday in Miramar Beach, which is just east of Destin.

When deputies got there, they found the child alone in a tent. Witnesses told them that the child had been alone for nearly an hour while the parents left and walked down the beach with their other kids.
