MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Several arrests were made Wednesday morning in Dane County with the help from the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Madison Police Department said.

Local, state and federal law enforcement served drug-related search warrants as part of Operation Fentanyl Free America, a nationwide effort to combat fentanyl trafficking, officials said.

Law enforcement said multiple people were arrested for drug and weapons-related offenses after officials found large amounts of illegal narcotics, firearms and U.S. money.

Officials did not say how many people were arrested or where specifically the arrests took place.
