VERONA, Wis. (WMTV) - Three people were cited for excessive speeding on US Highway 18/151 in Verona, the Verona Police Department announced Wednesday.

All three tickets were given Tuesday morning.

The speed limit on US Highway 18/151 is 65 mph, but Verona police say that two of the drivers were clocked going over 80 mph.

The third driver was pulled over around 8:45 a.m. for driving 125 miles per hour. The driver, a 21-year-old Madison man claimed to be running late for work.

VPD says they are dedicated to enforcing traffic laws to keep the community safe.
