Three children and a man from Jefferson City were injured in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 54 on Wednesday morning, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash happened near Callaway County Route B just before 6 a.m. when the vehicle went off the side of the road, up an embankment and hit a tree, according to the report.
The driver, 35, was seriously injured. The three children in the vehicle, ages 4 to 8, sustained injuries that ranged from minor to moderate, according to the crash report. All people involved were taken to the University Hospital.
The driver was not wearing a seat belt, but the children were wearing seat belts, according to the crash report.
