Daniel Boone Regional Library hosted a Medicare sign-up event for the first day of open enrollment . Counselors who are a part of the Benefits Enrollment Center help people compare 2026 Medicare prescription and Advantage plans.
BEC said it worked with the Missouri State Health Insurance Associate Program to offer people unbiased guidance on choosing a plan.
Medicare beneficiaries arrived with questions about which plan best fits their needs.
"Many concerns are whether or not the plan that they have is the plan that they'll need for the following year," said Jim House, a BEC counselor. "So what we have to do is compare plans, and we base that a lot on the drug lists."
