LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) - A plea offer is on the table for a man accused in a deadly 2022 stabbing, but the victim’s family is hoping the judge might still hand down a tougher sentence.
Tomorrow a court will review the plea offer for Tomas Alejandro Aguilar, who is accused of stabbing Oscar Bedarte while he was sleeping in his home back in 2022.
According to the Webb County Docket, Aguilar was previously offered a plea agreement of 33 years in prison. A hearing about the plea was held yesterday but it’s still unclear why the offer wasn’t finalized.
We spoke with the victim’s family and while they’re pushing for a longer sentence, they also hope everyone can begin to heal from this tragic event.
