PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Police Bureau activated its emergency tactical teams after an armed suspect barricaded himself inside a garage in the Brentwood-Darlington neighborhood, according to the agency. Residents are asked to shelter in place.

The suspect, who has not been identified, is believed to be inside a garage in the 7100 block of Southeast Sherrett Street, just east of Harney Park. Officers have surrounded the building and contained the suspect, who was located by the U.S. Marshals.

The Portland Police Bureau also activated its Special Emergency Reaction Team (SERT) and the Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT).

PPB said that no injuries have been reported but asked that those in the area stay inside and lock their windows and doors. "Shelter-in-place" notifications have been sent
