(NewsNation) — The family of teen influencer Zuza Beine is remembering the 14-year-old after she died from cancer in September.

Beine shared her experiences with the disease with millions of people across social media. Her mother, Dagmara Beine, said the teen was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia and went through 11 years of treatment before she passed.

It was when Zuza's cancer came back around the time she was eight or nine years old that her parents gave her a phone and allowed her to join social media and start making videos, which Beine said led to her daughter becoming an authentic figure online.

"The world just fell in love with her," Beine said. "She showed the ugly and the hard, but it didn't stop her from being a very hopeful, creative teenager."
