The city of Scottsdale was named the top public employer in Arizona by Forbes, which ranked the state’s top 75 employers by surveying employees and the public on topics such as workplace culture, professional development, benefits and compensation.
Scottsdale was No. 8 on Forbes’ ranking of all Arizona companies, placing the city alongside the state operations of major national brands like Apple, Microsoft and Costco.
Scottsdale was joined by the city of Phoenix (No. 10) as the only municipal governments in the top 10.
Scottsdale City Councilwoman Maryann McAllen, a former city employee herself, said the city of Scottsdale’s reputation as a good place to work precedes itself.
