BOSTON —
One day after Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey called on state regulators to do everything they can to lower gas and electric rates, the man who's about to take charge at the Department of Public Utilities is speaking exclusively with NewsCenter 5's Ben Simmoneau.
It comes as the DPU is facing a November 1 deadline to approve winter gas rates, which could rise again, making for another expensive heating season.
On Tuesday, Gov. Healey sent the DPU a letter asking them to go line-by-line through the state's gas and electric bills to "review each and every charge that customers are currently paying to determine whether the charge can be eliminated, reduced, or its impact mitigated."
