FREETOWN, Mass. —
Black smoke filled the skies over the highway in Dartmouth on Monday when a plane crashed on I-195, killing a Rhode Island couple.
New video shows flames blazing across the westbound lanes.
"All of a sudden, we see a huge fireball burst," said William Lajoie, one of the drivers on I-195 that day.
He recorded a video showing a trail of flames marking the plane's path across the roadway.
"It was a crazy situation, it was nuts, and fire everywhere, you could feel the heat from that fire, even the fuselage, you could feel the heat off that thing," said Lajoie.
Two people on board the plane, a couple from Middletown, Rhode Island, were killed. The driver of a car that was struck by the plane was injured but survived.
