An shooting earlier this month turned into a homicide investigation after a man shot in a drive-by died from his injuries.
Amari Christian, 21, was shot Oct. 5 on Haynes Park Drive, Nashville Police said in a statement Oct. 14. Christian died Oct. 13.
Two groups of girls "involved in an ongoing dispute" went to the area around 6 p.m. Oct. 5 to fight, police said in their statement. Someone used pepper spray during the fight and everyone dispersed, police said.
"A Honda Accord then drove by firing towards young men at the scene," police said. "Christian was struck in the chest and taken to the hospital."
No arrests have been made in the case.
