BOISE, Idaho — Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen has learned to tune out the vitriol that comes with leading one of college football's most storied Group of Five programs.

The junior signal-caller said he has received disturbing messages on social media this season, many directed at him, others about his family.

"Not death threats, but I mean, there are people that are like, 'I hope you and your family all die,'" Madsen said. "Don't bring my family into it, but there's some deep stuff and that's heartbreaking that someone wants to come at me and say those things."

Despite the toxic minority, Madsen says he focuses on the supportive majority of Broncos fans.
