Another indoor golf bar is teeing off in the Region.

The Union Bar inside the Hammond SportPlex at 6630 Indianapolis Boulevard has become Swingers, which has two Trackman golf simulators. They can play simulated courses from all over the world like Pebble Beach and Augusta.

"Parents can play while they're waiting for their kids to play in tournaments there," Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. said.

Indoor golf bars have been exploding in popularity in Northwest Indiana. Lsquared in Schererville, Good Ball and Blackbirdie in Dyer, Net Par and Limitless in Munster, and Golf Lounge in Lowell all have opened in recent years to give bar patrons something more active to do than stare at the warm light of the TV or their phones.
