(Gray News) - Loved ones of Diane Keaton are reportedly sharing how the award-winning actress died at the age of 79.

In a family statement shared by People , Keaton is said to have died from pneumonia.

“The Keaton family is very grateful for the extraordinary messages of love and support they have received these past few days on behalf of their beloved Diane, who passed away from pneumonia on October 11,” the shared statement read.

People reported her death on Saturday while noting that her health had suddenly declined.

According to The Associated Press , a family member said that Keaton died in California with loved ones.

The Oscar-winning actress starred in such films as “Annie Hall,” “The Godfather” and “Father of the Bride.”
