BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —
In exactly one week, the yearly Green Carpet Affair will take place at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Some consider it the kick off to Magic City Classic.
Rashada Leroy, CEO and founder of LRY, the agency producing the Green Carpet Affair, said, "The excitement right now is truly, truly on 100."
The event started back when Mayor Randall Woodfin was first elected to office. Because of its popularity, the Green Carpet Affair has successfully come back every year since then.
"It's a great time of year whenever the announcement goes out, when the flier hits, you can just feel the buzz," Leroy said. The buzz is so intense that free tickets are quickly snatched up, often within minutes.
Mayor Randall Woodfin made the announcement Tuesday that tickets are available for RSVP
