Lubbock's Annual Pumpkin Trail is filling up with Jack-O-Lanterns, including some prize-winning creations from the Avalanche-Journal and other local organizations supporting noble causes.
The City of Lubbock Parks and Recreation department and Reliant are hosting the 17th Annual Pumpkin Trail Thursday, Oct. 16. through Sunday at the Lubbock Memorial Arboretum and are asking for donations of Jack-O-Lanterns before the trail opens.
The goal this year is to showcase 2,000 pumpkins. To make this happen, organizers are asking Lubbockites to donate their carved pumpkins to the Pumpkin Trail, with contributions starting Wednesday. In past years, there have been more than 1,800 pumpkins and more than 25,000 visitors at the trail.
