ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A casino in Roanoke?

City Council made the announcement Tuesday , letting media know they were exploring the possibility of having one in the Berglund Center.

The news left those in attendance with more questions than answers. Wednesday, Mayor Joe Cobb told WDBJ7 what sparked this idea.

“We are always looking at additional ways to raise revenue that don’t affect the current tax rates. Because outside of that, that’s really the only option we have as a locality,” Mayor Cobb said.
