The homicide squad is investigating a triple fatal house fire that killed a woman and two school-aged boys.

The ABC has not included the names or images of those who have died, in accordance with family wishes.

Emergency services were called to the house fire on Whiting Street, in the Gladstone suburb of Toolooa, yesterday morning.

Neighbours alerted emergency services to the blaze just before 6am.

Within 15 minutes of firefighters arriving, the two-storey home had collapsed.

"It's three unexplained deaths ... we've engaged with the homicide investigation unit in Brisbane and they're here in Gladstone at the moment," Detective Acting Superintendent Luke Peachey said.

"We're keeping a very open mind as to which direction this investigation takes."
