EDINA, Minn. — Moorhead quarterback Jett Feeney returned to the field for the first time in more than a month and outdueled Edina star QB Mason West in a wild 51-44 Spuds’ victory Wednesday night in Minnesota Class 6A football.
Feeney hadn't played since Sept. 5 due to a shoulder injury.
“We were going to play Jett for a half and he was begging me at the second half that his night wasn’t over and thankfully we were able to get through the night health-wise," said Spuds head coach Kevin Feeney. "It was fun to watch our team compete and believe.”
Feeney led a scoring drive in the closing minute to seal the victory as the teams combined 39 points in the fourth quarter. Spuds receiver David Mack caught the game-winning 13-yard TD pass from Jett that gave Moorhead a 51-44 lead with 10 second
