BARNESVILLE, Minn. — In the game’s first drive, Barnesville running back Major Ness crossed the 50-yard line, rumbled a few more yards and was met by a pair of Warroad defenders.
Despite the 2-on-1 disadvantage, Ness kept his feet moving, and was soon greeted by a few of his Trojans offensive lineman who pushed in his favor. The Barnesville scrum overpowered its Warriors counterpart, and turned what would have been five yards into 16 yards.
“It’s very critical,” Ness said. “It gives us the extra yards we need.”
The Trojans may not have needed the extra yards in a 50-7 win over Warroad in the regular-season finale of Minnesota Section 8-2A football.
Barnesville (5-3, 4-0 Section) went undefeated against section opponents and will likely take the No. 1 spot in the Section 8-2A tournament
