Bruce Bochy named 'top potential candidate' for Giants' manager spot makes perfect sense for one reason

Bruce Bochy is one of the most tenured and successful MLB managers in baseball history. His contract expired at the end of the 2025 season, and he and the Texas Rangers mutually agreed to part ways.

In 2023, Bochy managed the Rangers to their first World Series in franchise history. He was offered a front office role with the team, but it is unclear if he will take that position. Bochy's 2,252 wins as a manager rank sixth all-time. It just so happens that another team Bochy used to manage in the San Francisco Giants also needs a new manager after firing Bob Melvin.
