Sabres beat Senators by the most improbable score of the NHL season

Sometimes, you simply can't predict sports.

The Buffalo Sabres entered Wednesday night having scored a total of two goals through three games on the young NHL season.

And then they beat the Ottawa Senators 8-4.

Yep, they scored four-times their goal total in just one game that they had gotten so far through three.

Their goal differential was negative-8 through three games, and then they won by four.

It's certainly not a good sign for the Senators, who certainly were missing captain Brady Tkachuk in his first game out with injury. But that's not the full explanation.

The Sabres simply played their best game of the season so far.
