Terry McLaurin has been a near-constant for the Washington Commanders over the past six-plus years. As the franchise has cycled through 11 starting quarterbacks, three head coaches and three team names, McLaurin has started almost every game — including 76 consecutive starts between late 2020 and the early portion of this season.

Yet as the Commanders prepare to face the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, McLaurin’s status remains a question mark — if not a bit of a mystery — for the fourth consecutive week, as he continues to work his way back from a quadriceps injury of undisclosed severity.
