The city of Oilton has now fired its second police chief in less than two years.

The city clerk says city council members voted 6 to 1 last night to fire Chief John Hefley with cause.

He was appointed by the council back in May 2024 after the council unanimously fired the previous police chief.

Chris Kirkpatrick has been hired to take over the position.
