A magical season for the No. 4 Portland Pilots men’s soccer team is now in the history books.

With a 1-1 road draw against No. 23 Oregon State on Wednesday night, Portland set a program record with its 22nd consecutive regular season match unbeaten.

The mark surpasses the previous record of 21 in a row without a loss, set in 1988.

The undefeated Pilots (9-0-3) responded to an early goal from the Beavers (6-3-2) in a highly physical match in front of a sold-out crowd at Paul Lorenz Field in Corvallis. Attendance was 1,471 — a stadium record.

Both teams remain tied atop the West Coast Conference standings with eight points apiece following the draw.
