New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday clarified that India will continue to purchase oil from multiple international sources to meet its energy requirements, following US President Donald Trump’s claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had assured him of stopping Russian oil imports.

“India is a significant importer of oil and gas. It has been our consistent priority to safeguard the interests of the Indian consumer in a volatile energy scenario. Our import policies are guided entirely by this objective,” Official Spokesperson, Shri Randhir Jaiswal said.
