Vanessa Redgrave will be honored with a lifetime achievement award from Italy’s Torino Film Festival , where the Oscar-winning British actress will present the world premiere of her latest film “The Estate.”
Directed and written by her son Carlo Nero, “The Estate” is a suspense drama starring Redgrave and husband Franco Nero (“Django”). It’s the tale of the Wellsleys, an aristocratic family desperate to save their ancestral property due to insurmountable debts.
Hailing from an illustrious family of actors, Redgrave’s first lead in “Morgan: A Suitable Case for Treatment” (1966), by Karel Reisz, won her best actress at Cannes and scored BAFTA and Oscar nominations. She returned to Cannes in the following year as Jane, the mysterious woman in the park in “Blow Up” by Michelangelo Antonio
