INDIANAPOLIS -- When asked how he's maintained patience during a basketball career that has taken its sweet time in developing, Jay Huff quotes a line from Scripture that the newly-acquired Pacers center acknowledges is a little on the dramatic side for his circumstances.

It's a line from Psalm 23, Verse 4, one of the most famous passages in the Bible in part because of how frequently it's been referenced in art. Coolio, Tupac Shakur and Kanye West all used it in songs. A clergyman recited it in the movie "Titanic" when it was clear the ship was sinking, and that's one of many occasions when it's referenced in film. It's rarely referenced when a situation doesn't involve death or otherwise impending doom.
