Head out to the Windward side for brunch and good music at Cafe Kalawe (45-270 William Henry Road.)

From 9 a.m. to noon or 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays for the rest of the month, expect performances from BBD (Bobby Ingano, Bryan Tolentino and Dwight Kanae), Maria Kaiu and Hoku Zuttermeister.

As for food, build your own omelet or try the Koolaupoko breakfast sandwich (one fried egg, a slice of cheese and a choice of meat). Or, if you’re there for lumch, try the fried saimin or one of the plate lunches.
