Local demonstrations are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 18, as part of the “No Kings 2” day, an effort organized nationwide in opposition to what participants call “continued authoritarian power grabs” by President Trump.

The day of action, coordinated by a coalition of groups including the American Civil Liberties Union, MoveOn, and the Service Employees International Union, is a follow-up to a June 14 mobilization that organizers reported drew over 5 million people across the country. Organizers emphasize commitment to nonviolent protest and community safety at all events.
