PATTERSON – Groups of young people are better equipped to hunt for wildlife thanks to members of the Putnam Federation of Sporting Clubs.
Veteran hunters were joined by members of the New York State Conservation Police in teaching teens the ‘dos and don’ts’ of hunting during a pheasant hunt at the Great Swamp Multiple Use Area in Patterson.
One of the organizers, Mike Tozzi, noted that specially trained dogs were available to assist the youngsters with the hunt.
He also praised the State Environmental Conservation Police officers for teaching the “safety and etiquette” of hunting prior to the hunt.
