Ricky Hatton's provisional cause of death has been given during a brief coroner's court hearing.

A packed gallery attended South Manchester Coroner's Court, in Stockport , for the 46-year-old's inquest opening this morning (October 16).

The five-minute hearing included details of the star's final few days, and confirmed his identification.

Mr Hatton had been found dead at his home in Gee Cross, Tameside , on the morning of Sunday, September 14.

His manager Paul Speak, who was in attendance at the hearing, found the star 'unresponsive' having been due to fly from Manchester to Dubai that day.

Mr Hatton's family had last seen him on Friday, September 12, when he 'appeared well', the court heard. View 3
