STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A 54-year-old man was injured in an alleged assault on Wednesday afternoon outside Tottenville High School, according to police.

The incident was reported around 2 p.m. in front of the school at 100 Luten Ave., according to a spokesman for the NYPD’s Deputy Commissioner of Public Information.

An individual driving a motorized two-wheel device threw a metal tape measure, according to the police spokesman.

The victim was struck on the face by the tape measure and fell to the ground. He suffered lacerations to the right side of his face, right arm and right knee, according to police.

He was treated at Northwell Staten Island University Hospital in Prince’s Bay and later was released.
