PROSPECT, Connecticut — Three people died and three others were injured during a crash Thursday morning involving three vehicles on Route 69 in Prospect , officials confirmed.

State police troopers with Troop I were called to the crash around 5:30 a.m. The crash happened on Talmadge Hill Road.

Investigators learned that a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 Trailer, traveling south behind a 2024 Tesla Model Y, collided with the Tesla while attempting to pass it.

State police said the crash sent the Tesla into the northbound lane before it collided with a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado K1500 Ltz.

Simultaneously, the 2020 Chevrolet hit the Tesla for a second time. The Tesla and the 2020 Chevrolet then went off the road.
