RICHMOND, Va. (WDBJ) - The Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) is opening the sixth round of the Community Flood Preparedness Fund, the DCR announced on Thursday, October 16.
Virginians across the commonwealth are invited to apply for $50 million in grants and $35 million in loans to support flood prevention projects that will improve community resilience and reduce the impact of potential flooding in our hometown communities as well as across the state.
$25 million in grants are available for Coastal Storm Risk Management and Flood Rick Management projects that have received authorization for construction from the United States Army Corps of Engineers , according to the DCR.
