A teenager was charged in connection with a shooting outside Ross Park Mall last month that injured one person and led to a massive police response to the North Hills shopping mecca.
Myshawn Scott, 16, allegedly fired three shots toward another juvenile outside the Dick’s House of Sport at the mall just before 8 p.m. Sept 30, and authorities believe the first shot struck the victim, according to the criminal complaint.
The incident spurred an “active shooter” situation as multiple callers reported several people involved in the shooting, according to the complaint. Ross Township police and units from nearby departments, including the city of Pittsburgh, responded to the scene.
