A school district located in Fayette County issued a warning to parents and students Wednesday night, informing them that a treat served at an elementary school event could have been contaminated.

In a letter shared on social media , Albert Gallatin School District Superintendent Christopher Pegg said that shaved ice served at a “Trunk or Treat” at A.L. Wilson Elementary School on Wednesday might have been contaminated with broken glass and insulin.

Pegg says in the letter than any children or parents who ate the shaved ice and are experiencing “adverse affects” should seek medical attention immediately.

Pegg asked parents of any affected children to contact the district’s business office.

It is not clear how the shaved ice became contaminated or who was serving it.
